When it comes to expressing love for another human being, there is simply no better occasion than aย wedding.
By definition, the union between two connected souls is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and people usually go to great lengths to ensure their day is as special as it can be.
Now, while weโre sure you all enjoyed memorableย wedding daysย (if youโre married), we simply had to draw attention to one particular bride and what she did to show her deep love for her husband.
Liz Shoesmith and her husband Scott live in Caringbah, Australia, with the two communicating through sign language. Scott is deaf, see, so when it came to their wedding day there were a few things they needed to get around.
Of course, this didnโt stop the lovebirds planning each and every minor detail so that they and their guests could enjoy the perfect day. They did it all together save for one thing, which Liz had prepared as a surprise for her husband to be.
When the big day came, Liz paused at the end of the aisle rather than joining Scott at the altar. But, donโt worry, this wasnโt a case of last-minute nerves.
Far from it, in fact. Liz was getting ready to perform. The songย โA Thousand Yearsโย by Christina Perri was playing, whilst Liz donned a beautiful white dress emboldened by silver patterns.
When the lyrics came in, Liz signed the words for her husband. Each gesture was made with decisive grace โ sheโd been rehearsing for this for some time.
As for Scott, his breath was taken away. He began to tear up as his lovely bride displayed her immeasurable love in the most fitting of ways.
Liz toldย Love What Matters: โI wonโt lie, I was terrified before walking into the ceremony. But the moment I locked eyes with him I never looked away and it was a special moment just between the two of us. He held it together for a few seconds before crying the whole way through the song. He has re-watched the video a hundred times and he still cries every time!
At the culmination of her performance, Liz joined Scott at the altar and her husband led the gathered loved ones in applauding his talented bride.
Scott might not be able to hear the world as others do, but Lizโs spectacle was one he can cherish forevermore.
