“The Mary Tyler Moore Show” star Cloris Leachman believed the only problem in her marriage to George Englund was their different views on raising children. She already had three young children with George at the time. The boys were one and a half, three, and four and a half. “If there was one giant source of stress between us, it was, and I’m sure always will be, how the children should be raised,” she explained. As a family man, George was hardly home because of work. Sometimes he was gone for weeks, leaving his wife with the housekeeper and their brood. And on one such night, the silence was broken by a loud call that changed everything.
