Britney Spears has slammed the recent photos suggesting a mental breakdown as ‘fake news’.

The Toxic hitmaker claims a ‘body double’ was used amid news the pop icon, who has faced her fair share of public struggles, is reportedly grappling with fresh mental health concerns. Snaps of the Baby One More Time songstress looking dishevelled outside the Chateau Marmont have sparked concern among fans about her wellbeing.

Early Thursday morning, Britney was allegedly in the midst of a crisis at the famed LA hotspot. The images show her seemingly topless, donning shorts and draped in a blanket, with a pillow obscuring her torso. Paramedics were on site, tending to the star.

Britney Spears reportedly had a mental health crisis last night to the early morning

TMZ reports that Britney had a physical clash with her beau Paul Soliz at the hotel on Wednesday evening. Insiders claim the police were summoned because a woman resembling Britney was “harassing and threatening hotel staff and patrons.”

After Britney purportedly became loud and “out of control” in her suite’s corridor, paramedics were called. In a now-vanished Instagram post, the ‘Princess of Pop’ appeared to address the controversial images, labelling them as “fake news.”

“Just to let people know…the news is fake! ! ! Most of the pics are body doubles and I think most know that! ! ! I would like respect at this time for people to understand I am getting stronger everyday! ! ! ” she penned in the caption.

Britney’s most notorious public meltdown occurred back in 2007, when the pop icon infamously shaved her head and lashed out at a paparazzo’s car with an umbrella. In her tell-all book The Woman in Me, Britney delves deep into that very public spiral and other private struggles she faced. She candidly discusses her battle with postnatal depression, the anguish of losing a family member, and the turmoil of her custody fight with former flame Kevin Federline.

In her own words, Britney confesses: “I am willing to admit that in the throes of severe postpartum depression, abandonment by my husband, the torture of being separated from my two babies, the death of my adored aunt Sandra and the constant drumbeat of pressure from paparazzi, I’d begin to think in some ways like a child.”

These harrowing experiences, including being forcibly admitted to a mental health facility twice in 2008, precipitated the imposition of her contentious conservatorship later that year. Under this legal arrangement, her father, James “Jamie” Spears, along with attorney Andrew M Wallet, were granted extensive control over her personal affairs, career, and finances
